U8 Mite Development Program
This program is built for players in the 8U age group (birth years 2017–2019), creating a foundation during the most important stage of long-term hockey development. At this level, the focus is on building strong skating habits, puck control, and game awareness while introducing players to team structure and competitive play in a travel environment.
There are no cuts in this program, all players are placed on either the Black, White, or Orange team to ensure proper development, balanced competition, and the best fit for their current skill level.
Our goal is to create confident, skilled players who are prepared for the transition into full-ice travel hockey. The Black, White, and Orange teams provide a clear pathway within the program, ensuring every player is challenged at the right level while staying within a unified development model.
This is where development becomes intentional and where a player’s travel hockey path truly begins.

Season Details
Running from August through March, the Mite Development Program follows a 3 day-per-week structure.
Program Structure & Cost
Players will participate in a combination of weekly:
- On-ice skill development sessions focused on skating mechanics, edge work, and puck handling
- Team practices introducing systems, spacing, and game concepts
- Cross-ice and half-ice game play to maximize puck touches, decision-making, and compete level
This frequency and structure are intentional. Developing hockey players properly requires consistent repetition, progression, and exposure to game situations. The three-day model allows players to build skills, apply them in practice, and reinforce them in game environments each week.
